Billy Lavance Swindle, 92, of Plainview passed away on Wednesday, July 5, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Rev. Donna Lindley, pastor of First United Methodist Church of Hart, Texas officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 A.M. Monday, July 10, 2017 in the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Abilene, Texas under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Billy Swindle was born on December 8, 1924 in Clarksville, Texas to Leo Lavance and Tessie (Crader) Swindle. He married Roma Lee Clemmer on May 7, 1947 in Plainview, Texas. He was a farmer. Billy was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Bud Swindle, a sister, Virginia Swindle Montgomery and a step-mother, Wilma Alice Swindle. He is survived by his wife, Roma Lee Swindle of Plainview; three children, Jim Swindle and wife Altah of Lubbock, TX, Margaret Dorman of Wheeler, TX, Jerry Swindle and wife Nancy of Sweetwater, TX; two sisters, Sue Bennett of Lubbock, TX, Jaynie Lilley of Plainview; 6 Grandchildren; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great Great Grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
