Tulia, Texas—Pamela Kay (Henthorn) Harrison, 61, passed from this life on July 12, 2017 in the Promiseland Hospice Home in Lubbock. Memorial services will be held on Monday, July 24, 2017 at 2:00 PM, in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Charles Davenport will be officiating. A private graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM in Rose Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 at the funeral home. Pam was born on June 19, 1956 to Don and Faye Henthorn in Tulia. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School with honors. She was an active and involved student who loved twirling with the Tulia High School band and playing basketball for the Hornettes. She excelled in basketball and as a result, received a basketball scholarship from Ranger Junior College where she attended and received an Associate of Arts degree. She then enrolled in West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M) where she became one of the first women to receive a scholarship to play basketball at the university. While there, she earned a BBA in accounting. After college she worked for a small bookkeeping/tax service. She began her banking career in the Internal Audit Dept. at Amarillo National Bank. She then moved to Oklahoma as trust auditor for Banks of Mid America which eventually became JP Morgan-Chase where she had been promoted to Vice President of Trust Compliance. She began a career in telecommunications industry in 1998 with Williams Communication. Later she worked with Wiltel which became part of Level 3 Communications in 2007; a company which became carrier for the majority of internet traffic between cities in the US. She was the resource person for resolving challenges associated with establishing connections to expand the internet. She was the most senior resource for these circuits in the company and provided the final answer on how circuits were designed and activated. In 1999 she met and married the love of her life, Christopher Harrison. They were married in August of 1999 and traveled extensively until his untimely death November 9, 2011. They were members of the First Christian Church in Jenks, Oklahoma, where they worked with the children and youth groups. Pam is preceded in death by her husband: Chris and one sister: Carol Ann (Henthorn) Pergrem. She is survived by her parents: Don and Faye Henthorn of Tulia, TX, her three brothers and their wives: Mike and Donna Henthorn of Lubbock, TX, Tim and Suzanne Henthorn of Fairview, TX and Robert and Cindy Henthorn of Costa Mesa, CA. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Chad and Heather Henthorn, Tyler Henthorn and Kerry Spannaus, Allison and Chris Jennings, all of Lubbock, TX, Amy and Rob Scott of Roswell, NM, Heather and Chad Bourland of Keller, TX, Jennifer and Tyson Askins of Bushland, TX, Clint Pergrem of Midland, TX, Todd and Hope Benson of Corpus Christi, TX, Sean and Danielle Henthorn of Salem, OR, Stephen Henthorn of Costa Mesa, CA, Courtney and Danny Holwerda of Spring, TX, Rachael Smith of Fairview, TX, Jarrad and Jennifer Henthorn of Alvarado, TX, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Pam was the favorite aunt of her nieces and nephews and their children and made each one feel they were her favorite. She leaves a legacy of love, joy, laughter and sharing.
