Shayla Shivers (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Shayla Shivers, 28, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2017 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 21, 2017 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. David Haynes, pastor of Jackson Chapel, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Shayla was born on August 8, 1988 in Tulia to Curtis and Sherri Shivers. She grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School in 2006. She was a homemaker and a member of Jackson Chapel Church. She is preceded in death by her father: Curtis Shivers and her grandparents: Dora White and J.D. Thomas and Charlie Mae Shivers and James Shivers. She is survived by her mother: Sherri Powell Shivers of Tulia, her children: Curslynn Shivers and Curshawn Shivers, both of Tulia, her brother: Terrance Powell of Tulia, her sister: Sameria Smith of Tulia, her step-dad whom she called "Pops": Melvin Washington, two nieces and three nephews and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
