Tulia, Texas—Evelyn L. Holloway, 95, died Sunday, September 27, 2009 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Wednesday, September 30, 2009 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Ruth Henderson officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Evelyn was born April 29, 1914 in Sweetwater, Oklahoma. She grew up in Pampa, TX and Tulia, TX graduating from Tulia High in 1932. She married Ed Holloway in 1933. She was a housewife. She was a member of the non-denominational church. Survivors include her son: Johnny Vincent (Buck) Holloway and wife Shirley of Nacogdoches, TX and her daughter: Estelle Bryan of Amarillo, TX, her brother; Jimmy Johnson and his wife Janie of Cimarron, NM, four sisters; Carrie Belle Bradley of Tulia, Helen Barlow of Purdy, Missouri, Lela Nivens of Tulia and Billie Mays of Haskell, four grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and six great, great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Ed in 1994 and two grandsons: Monty Bryan and Eddie Holloway. A visitation will be held from 6-7pm Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at the funeral home.
