Tulia, Texas—Erma Lou Hollaway, 84, passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 4:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Raif Turner officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Erma was born on November 23, 1932 in Sacramento, California to Roy and Mamie Wilfong. Erma was the oldest of nine children. Growing up in the 50’s, all the kids worked in the cotton fields except Erma. She quickly learned how to take care of a household and kids, even though they were her siblings. Organizing and keeping a tight schedule were two of her attributes that kept her busy through the years. She was an active member of Tulia’s Ladies Auxiliary Post 1798. She Married James Hollaway in Wellington on July 10, 1953. During their marriage they spent 20 years with the United States Air Force and retired in Tulia where they ran Performance Service until they both retired in 1997. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her daughter: Pamela Hendricks, one grandson: Cory Hendricks, two sisters, Loretta Rushin and Brenda Gaither. She is survived by one granddaughter: Tamara Dumond and Matt of South Portland, Maine; Son-in-law: Tommy Hendricks of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two great grandchildren: Noah and Coralee of South Portland, Maine; four brothers: Philip and Shirley Wilfong, Bill and Laquita Wilfong all of Amarillo, Ron and Ka Wilfong and Gary Wilfong all of Tulia, two sisters: Doloris Palmer of Tulia and Sharon Vickers and Sam of Lubbock.
