Penny Lynn McClurg (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas- Penny Lynn McClurg, 53, died Friday, August 11, 2017 in Amarillo, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tulia with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, 2017 at 5:30 to 7:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Tulia. Penny was born on September 1, 1963 in Tulia to Royce and Marcella Durham. She graduated from Kress High School in 1981. She went to South Plains College for a year and later met the love of her life Dudley McClurg. Penny and Dudley got married on October 30, 1982 in Kress. They have been married for 35 years and were partners in crime in everything they did. She raised three children and worked in the farm. She loved to cook and to sit in her garden in the evenings. Penny worked so hard just to live and never gave up even to the darkest hour and was the most unselfish person who always did things for everyone and never thought of herself. Penny is preceded in death by her son: Jacob Cole McClurg. She is survived by her husband: Dudley McClurg of Tulia, one daughter: Dr. Stormie McClurg of Lakin, Kansas, one son: Joshua McClurg of Tulia, her parents: Royce and Marcella Durham, two brothers: Kelly Durham of Kress and Benny Durham of Lubbock, her in- laws: Weldon McClurg and Barbara McClurg.
