Armando "Mando" Martinez Garcia (Plainview)

Armando Martinez “Mando” Garcia, 71, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 in Plainview. Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 4, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. at the Kornestone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Chaplain Oscar Chavez officiating. Services are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, September 3, 2017 at 6:00 P.M. at Kornerstone Chapel in Plainview, Texas. Mando was born on September 6, 1945 in Ciudad Acuna, Mexico to Manuel and Virginia Garcia. He attended schools in Del Rio in the late 1950’s. He married Paula Garcia on January 15, 1968 in Dumas, Texas. He was drafted in the United States Army and served during Vietnam. He went to work in the meat packing industry and worked in Plainview before moving to Dumas. Mando retired in 2012. He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Maria De Gracia Ramirez. He is survived by his wife Paula Garcia of Dumas, one daughter: Tami Wagner & husband Felipe Castillo of Plainview, one son: Michael A Garcia of Plainview, one step-son: Jose Luis Casillas of Cleburne, four brothers: Raul M. Garcia & wife Lillie of Plainview, Ricardo M. Garcia & wife Dora of Plainview, Ramiro M. Garcia & wife Manuela of Plainview, Daniel Charles of Del Rio, three sisters: Guadalupe Zuniga & husband Jose Carmelo of Del Rio, Mary Pacheco & husband Heriberto of Plainview and Lety Hernandez & husband Otto Sr. of Plainview and eight grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
