Kenneth Martin Duckett (Plainview)

Kenneth Martin Duckett, 79, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 in Lubbock, TX. Services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Plainview, Texas with Dr. Travis Hart officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Kenneth was born on September 23, 1938 in Clarendon, TX to J.B. and Rose Ada Reid Duckett. He spent his childhood in Clarendon and moved to Plainview in 1947. He worked along with his father building houses in Plainview. He built many of the buildings at Wayland Baptist University. He also farmed for many years in the area. He married Cleta Cross on August 7, 1959 in Plainview, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he was a deacon, he volunteered for Meals on Wheels and was the ultimate family man. He never missed a single event that his grandchildren were involved in. He is survived by his wife, Cleta Duckett of Plainview; a daughter, Kenna Hatch and her husband, Kyle of Plainview; a son, Martin Duckett of Plainview, 2 sisters, Rose Ann Bailey of Plainview and Donna Moore of Amarillo; three grandsons, Koby Hatch and his wife, Meredith, Kace Hatch and his fiancée, Chelsea Miller and Keaton Hatch.
