John Burrow (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas-John Burrow, 73, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at First Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Bill Ivins, pastor of Saint Paul United Methodist Church of Amarillo, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. John was born on February 13, 1944 in Tulia to Roy and Neoma Burrow. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School. He served in the US Navy for four years. He worked for KGNC Radio in Amarillo as a farm broadcaster for several years and hosted The Garden Line on KTRH Radio in Houston for 20 years before returning to Amarillo in 2001. He married Robbin Pelton in 2005. He is survived by his wife: Robbin Burrow of Amarillo, one daughter: Holland Roswell and husband Kevin of Fairview, Tennessee, three grandchildren: Tessa Roswell, Kara Roswell and Connor Roswell, all of Fairview, Tennessee, his step-children: Kim Higby and husband Brad of Amarillo, Elizabeth Lancaster of Ft. Worth and Danny Pelton and wife Kathy of Hico, four step-grandchildren: Katie Shultz and husband Adam of Keller, Melanie Douglass of Dallas, Rebecca Higby of Lubbock and Jillian Kirchdorfer of Ft. Worth and two step-great grandchildren: Emily Shultz and McKenna Shultz, both of Keller. He is also survived by two sisters: LaDonna Kesner and husband Manuel of Amarillo and Roberta McNeese and husband Ron of Canyon, one brother: Scott Burrow and wife Zane of Tulia and several nieces and nephews.
