Bessie B. Abbott (Plainview)

Plainview, Texas – Bessie B. Abbott, 78, of Plainview passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2009 in Plainview. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 19, 2009 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with her nephew, Donnie Proctor officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Bessie was born on February 2, 1931 in Clinton, Tennessee and she attended schools there. She married Clifford Abbott on November 18, 1963 in Tijeras, N.M. They moved to Plainview 1965-70 and then to N.M. from 1970-89 and then back to Plainview. She was a homemaker. Survivors include her husband, Cliff Abbott; one daughter, Rita Marie Billings and husband Paul of Willow Springs, N.C.; one son, Clinton Neal Abbott and wife Wanda of Belton, TX; two brothers, Joseph Bridges and wife Grace of Clinton, TN and Hamilton Bridges and wife Mary of Clinton, TN; one grandchild, Desiree Abbott of Temple, Texas. She was preceded in death by brother, Rufus Bridges, and a sister Dovie Sharp.
