George Walter Spencer (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—George Walter Spencer, 72, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in Tulia. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. in the First Baptist Church. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. George was born on June 30, 1945 in Marion, Indiana. He served in the United States Army and Navy during Vietnam. After the service George became a professional bowler. In 1982 Dan Tucker moved him to Tulia to work for Bowling Parts, Inc. For 35 years he traveled around the world installing and repairing bowling alleys. He married Gayla Sain on June 30, 1984. He loved horses and golf. He also worked for the Tule Lake Golf Club in the pro shop. He is survived by his wife: Gayla Spencer of Tulia, TX, three daughters: Mary Michelle Paske & husband Trace of Rotan, TX, Cindy Ruth “C.R.” Spencer of Canyon, TX and Bonnie Lynn Spencer of Virginia, one son: David Spencer of Virginia, three sisters: Jill Shelton of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Rita Shipley of Las Vegas, Nevada and Robin Wagner of Grand Junction, Colorado.
