David Gammage, 92, of Somerville, formerly of Plainview, passed away on October 16, 2017 in Caldwell, Texas. Graveside Services will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Plainview Memorial Park with Rev. Doug Yates of Plainview Family Church of the Nazarene officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5:00-6:00 P.M. Friday, October 20, 2017 at Kornerstone. He was born August 14, 1925 in Memphis, Texas to Will E. and Attice Lewis Gammage. He married Letha “Juanita” Howard in 1950 in Plainview, Texas. He was retired from the U.S. Army after serving for 20 years. He served in the Pacific War Conflict and the Korean War. He retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after 36 years and was a member of the Telephone Pioneers. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign War and the First Baptist Church of Plainview. He is proceeded in death by his parents, six brothers and two sisters. Mr. Gammage is survived by his wife, Juanita Gammage of Somerville, TX; one daughter, Sharon Pitts and husband Billy of Somerville; 1 brother, James Gammage of Sante Fe, TX; 2 sisters, Ruth Kirk of Buena Park, CA and Katherine Sistrunk of Amarillo, TX; 1 grandchild, Billy “Luke” Pitts; 5 great grandchildren, Cole, Hagen, Cason, Riley and Weston Pitts.
