Emma Jane Holland, 84, formerly of Plainview, passed away October 24, 2017 in Southlake, Texas. Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Pastor David Pool officiating. Interment will follow at Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Friday October 27, 2017 from 6-8 P.M. at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Emma Jane was born January 1, 1933 in Hale Center, Texas to George “Dudley” and Mary Belle Applewhite. She married Carlton Lee Holland on February 5, 1951 in Hale Center, Texas. While living in Hale Center they owned and operated H&N Electronics. In 1963, they moved to Plainview where they renamed the business to Associated Communications, Inc., and were the first to offer mobile communication services in Plainview and later expanding to Lubbock, Hereford and Clovis, NM. Emma was active in the community serving as a member of the Chamber of Commerce Redcoats and also an active member of The Eastern Star. She was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. Her husband preceded her in death March 14, 2016. She is survived by one daughter; Tammy Rimmer & husband Bert of Gainesville, TX, two sons; Reggie Holland & wife Becky of Abilene, TX, Ric Holland & wife Donna of Loganville, GA; 6 grandchildren; Leah Furhmann & husband Matthew of Norman, Oklahoma; Rhett Rimmer & wife Lori of Era, Texas; Kelli Goree of Weatherford, Texas; Cory Holland of Henrietta, Texas, Michael Holland of Loganville, GA and Melissa Combs and husband Matt of Cumming, GA and 14 great-grandchildren.
