Tulia, Texas-Pedro Rodriguez, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Israel Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A prayer service will be held on Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 5:30 to 7:00 pm in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Pedro was born on May 17, 1939 in Charco, Texas to Pedro and Saragosa Rodriguez. He worked as a foreman at Swisher County Cattle Feed Yard until he retired. Pedro loved training, riding and taking care of his horses. He liked his western TV shows. He loved planting in his garden every year and taking care of his yard. Pedro love playing music with his son and family. He loved joking and making people laugh. Pedro and Mary Lou were happily married for 45 years. He was a loyal husband and a wonderful father to all his children. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter: Mary Franco, two sisters: Margie Peña and Fannie Botello. He is survived by his wife: Mary Lou Rodriguez of Tulia, his children: Benito Rodriguez of Sioux City, Iowa, David Rodriguez of Tulia, Danny Rodriguez of Tulia, Pete Rodriguez, Jr. and Raymond Rodriguez both of Petersburg and Israel Rodriguez of Tulia, Vickie Shawver of Kerrville and Rosie Garcia of Canyon, three step-daughters: Mary Gonzales of Plainview, Bernice Barela of Altus, Oklahoma and Joann Barela of Plainview, four brothers: Abram Moya, Juan Moya, Clemente Rodriguez and David Rodriguez and three sisters: Eva Benavidez, Mary Gonzales and Gloria Guzman, 30 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.
