Michael Morris Been(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Michael Morris Been, 55, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 2:00 pm in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Karel Smith officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 6:00 to 7:30 pm at the funeral home. Mike was born in Tulia on October 2, 1962. His parents are Frankie and Judy Been. He grew up in Tulia and graduated from Tulia High School. He attended Panhandle State University on a football scholarship. He worked for Affiliated Foods, Schwan’s and then Pioneer Construction in Amarillo for several years. He returned to Tulia in 2008 and was a caregiver to many families and their loved ones in Tulia. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Tulia. He is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by three children and three granddaughters: Krystin Scott and husband Wesley and their daughter Peyton of Ft. Worth, Tanner Been and wife Kate and their daughter Palmer of Midland and Kayla Been and her daughter Micaylah of Carrollton, one brother: Jim Bob Been of Plainview, three sisters: Sue Lester of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Vicki Benson of Amarillo and Dee Dee Resendes of Lubbock and seven nieces and nephews: Erick, Jessica, J. Frank, Brandy, Stormie, Shy and Katie.
