Dorthy Faye Edmiston (Plainview)

Faye Edmiston, 79, of Plainview, passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, in Lubbock. A visitation will be held from 6-7:30 P.M., on Friday, October 30, 2009, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00 A.M. MST, on Saturday, October 31, 2009, at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel in Lovington, New Mexico, with Alan Speed of Calvary Baptist Church in Jal and Harry Pittam of First Baptist Church in Lovington officiating. Burial will follow in Lovington Cemetery in Lovington, New Mexico. Mrs. Edmiston was born on January 11, 1930, in Edith, Texas to Bulah Martin and Walter Clements. She married John C. Edmiston on December 21, 1946 in Roswell, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 9, 1998. She grew up in Roswell and attended high school there. In December of 1950, they moved to Jal, New Mexico and on November 19, 1952, she was born again in Christ. They were Charter Members of Calvary Baptist Church in Jal. She was a Sunday School Teacher and very active in church. When John retired in 1973 they moved to Roswell and in 1982, they moved to Lovington. She lived in Midland for six years and has lived in Plainview for the past ten years. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Plainview and enjoyed her Sunday School Class. Faye loved cooking. Everyone loved her homemade bread and pumpkin muffins. She really enjoyed cooking and decorating for the Christmas holidays. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by one son, Jim Edmiston of Plainview, Texas, one daughter, Kathy Caudill & husband Roland of Carlsbad, New Mexico, one brother, Freddie Clements of Lubbock, Texas, one sister, Margi Schroeder & husband Harley of Roswell, New Mexico, two grandchildren, Angie Ballard & husband Skeeter of Hico, Texas, Gayla Cowart & husband Curtis of Carlsbad, New Mexico, four great grandchildren, Samantha & Erin Ballard and Austin & Haylea Cowart and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Association, 2514 82nd St., Ste. B, Lubbock, Texas 79423, the Joe Arrington Cancer Center, 4101 22nd Place, Lubbock, Texas 79410 or to First Baptist Church, 205 W. 8th St., Plainview, Texas 79072.
