Tulia, Texas—Bob Fulkerson, 88, died Saturday, November 7, 2009 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, November 9, 2009 at First Baptist Church with his son, Butch Fulkerson and Rev. James Hassell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Bob was born October 13, 1921 in Tucumcari, NM where he grew up and graduated high school. He served in the US Air Force during WWII. He married Thalia Wright in August 1946 in Canyon. They moved to Tulia in 1950. He was a farmer and a stockman all his life. He was a former board member of Farm Bureau and a member of First Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by a grandson, Jack Gfeller. Survivors include his wife: Thalia Fulkerson of Tulia, one son and daughter-in-law: Butch and Charlotte Fulkerson of Lubbock, one daughter and son-in-law: Kay and Ronnie Gfeller of Dimmitt, one brother: Gordon Fulkerson of Tucumcari, NM, one sister: Frances Stull of Tucumcari, NM, five grandchildren: Matt and Mandy Gfeller of Dimmitt, Jill and Pammy Millican of Dimmitt, Michelle and Bill Jonas of Graham, Christy Flynn of Grandview and John Fulkerson of Ft. Worth, and 11 great grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Scholarship Fund @ First Baptist Church, PO Box 450, Tulia, Texas 79088.
