Tulia, Texas—Dorrace (Dot) Latham, 83, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009 in Elk City, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Monday, November 23, 2009 in the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ernie McGaughey officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the funeral home. Dorrace was born August 8, 1926 in Childress Co., Texas to David Hugh and Mary Lois Watson Nelson. She graduated from Estelline High School and attended Draughn’s Business College. She married J.R. Latham on February 24, 1952 in Vigo Park. She ran the Sears Store in Tulia for several years and also was a rural mail carrier and worked in the Superintendent’s office for TISD. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Tulia. Mr. Latham died October 11, 1994. She moved to Elk City in 1996. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law: Mark and Jackie Latham of Plainview, Texas, a daughter and son-in-law: Arlean and Ron Inman of Elk City, Oklahoma, two grandsons and their wives: Aaron and Elissa Inman and Arick and Cassey Inman all of Elk City and four great grandchildren; Brette Lassiter, Autumn Inman, Jake Inman and Nick Inman all of Elk City, and several nieces and nephews.
