Lucy Hutto (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Lucy Hutto, 86, died Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in Pampa. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Thursday, June 15, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Charles Davenport, retired Baptist minister officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Essie Lou ‘Lucy’ Malone was born March 12, 1920 in Lubbock Co., Texas. She grew up in the Littlefield area and graduated from Littlefield in 1938. She married Delmer Hutto on July 23, 1938. They moved to Tulia in 1939. Mr. Hutto died in October 1973. She became the Deputy Clerk for Swisher County in 1974 and retired in 1990. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law; David and Janet Hutto of Pampa and Gene and Vi Hutto of Bovina, one sister; Ann Swanner of Portland, Oregon, 5 grandchildren; Tim and Kristi Hutto, Ted and Becci Hutto, Toya and Dee DeLeon, Kip and Glenda Hutto and Tommy and Pam Hutto, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great, great granddaughter. She is preceded in death by her husband and one brother; Robert Malone and one sister; Cloice Gammel. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 N. Crosby, Tulia, Texas 79088 or to the Rose Hill Cemetery, P.O. Box 116, Tulia, Texas 79088.
