Happy, Texas— Eddie Holland Cope, 62, died Friday, November 27, 2009 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, November 29, 2009 in the Happy Cemetery with Rev. James Hassell and Rev. Tom Stribling officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Her body will lie in state at the Brooks Funeral Directors Chapel in Happy from 9:00 am Sunday, November 29, 2009 until service time. Eddie was born October 30, 1947 in Pampa to Jay and Georgia Dea Holland. She attended schools in Miami, Texas and graduated from Miami High School in 1966. She married Jim Cope on June 10, 1967 in Miami and moved to Happy. She worked for the Tulia Independent School District for over 30 years working in the classroom, as librarian and as the payroll clerk. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Tulia and the Beta Sigma Phi charitable organization. She also kept books for Touch of Health in Tulia. Survivors include her husband: Jim Cope of Happy, two daughters: Joda Cope Crow and husband Greg of Carrollton and Jeffna Cope Cox and husband Bruce of Happy, her mother: Georgia Dea Holland of Pampa, two brothers: Joe Holland of Pampa and Rex Holland of Happy, four grandchildren: Logan Crow and Catherine Crow, both of Carrollton and Jaycie Cox and Devin Alexis Cox both of Happy. She is preceded in death by her father: Jay Holland and a brother: Curtis Holland. Memorials may be made to the Happy Volunteer Fire Department or to the Happy Cemetery Association.
