Clara Miller Gullett, 81, of Kress died Thursday, December 3, 2009, at her residence in Kress. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 7, 2009, at First Baptist Church of Kress with Rev. Jay Simpson former Pastor and Rev. Will Fish of First Baptist Church of Kress officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mrs. Gullett was born on July 18, 1928, to Andrew Jackson and Bertie Matthews Skinner. She married Wayne G. Miller on April 13, 1945 in Bayview Alabama. Mr. Miller passed away June 24, 1989. The Millers moved to Kress in 1961 and started farming. She had graduated from Lipperts Business College and worked for Lively-Bagley Gin for several years. She also was the Kress City Judge for 3 years. Mrs. Gullett was the Business Manager for the Kress school district for 25 years. Clara married Bob Gullett April 18, 1991 in Kress. Mrs. Gullett was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, four brothers and three Sisters. She is survived by her husband Bob Gullett of Kress; one daughter Nita Reese and husband Joel of Kress; one son Barry Miller and wife Caren of Plainview; one brother Ralph Skinner of Pinson Alabama; three sisters Jean Hall of Amarillo, Barbara Balusek of Garland, Betty Archer of Fairfield, Alabama; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren.
