Alfredo G. Huerta (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Alfredo G. Huerta, 44, died Monday, June 19, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 22, 2006 in the Church of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Tony Neusch, pastor officiating. Military graveside services will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. A prayer vigil will be held at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 21, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Mr. Huerta was born December 15, 1962 in Abernathy. He was raised in Kress and graduated from Kress High School. He joined the US Army in 1982 and served for 10 years traveling around the world. He was honorably discharged in 1992. He worked for Wal-Mart for about a year and then for the Tulia prison before working for Pantex Security in Amarillo for over 7 years. He was a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Amarillo. Survivors include his parents; Jesus Huerta of Plainview and Hortencia G. Huerta of Kress, one daughter; Bianca Elena Huerta of Cotulla, Texas, four sisters; Diana Bullock of Tulia, Texas, Angie Esquivel of Kress, Sandy Huerta of Kress and Rosa Sanchez of Plainview, six brothers; Rodolfo Huerta of Kress, Jesus Huerta, Jr. of Tulia, Ricky Huerta of Kress, Diego Huerta of Maxwell, Texas, Ray Huerta of Tulia and Lupe Huerta of Lockney, Texas, 33 nieces and nephews, 37 great nieces and nephews.
