Sparks Redinger (Plainview)

Sparks Vincent Redinger was born December 22, 1952 to Nell Marie and Quentin Redinger in Olton, Texas. He was raised southeast of Olton on the farm that his grandparents Charlie and Nellie Redinger homesteaded in 1907. He attended Olton schools until his freshman year. He then attended New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell, NM where he proudly graduated in 1971. He attended South Plains College and Texas Tech. He didn't quite receive his degree because he wanted to go back and farm with his dad and brother. In 1973, he met the love of his life, Mona Wright. They were married March 23, 1974, in Abernathy, Tx. They never had children of their own, but had plenty of nieces and nephews to shower with love. A favorite thing to do was to load all the kids up and take them to Tech football games. He was preceded in death by his parents, Quentin and Nell Marie Redinger and his grandparents, Charlie and Nellie Redinger and Solon and Ida Higgins. Sparks is survived by his wife, Mona, of Plainview; One brother, Ronnie Redinger and wife Judy of Olton; sister Quenette Collins and husband Danny of Olton; and sister Tami Wylie and husband Len of Canyon. His beloved nieces and nephews, Colt Redinger, La'Danda Kauffman and husband Cody, Casey Collins all of Olton; Ronna Carson and husband Stephen and Kylie Lamberth and husband Adam of Amarillo and "best buds" Jonni Hutto and Alyx Wylie of Canyon. Also surviving are his mother-in-law and father-in-law Vallaree and Dan Wright of Abernathy, brother-in-law and wife Robin Wright and wife Sheryl of Buffalo, nieces Stacey, Jennifer and Brandy. Also the newest little ones that we love so much and keep us entertained, Hunter and Kasen Kauffman and Kashlee and Wyatt Lamberth. And a long-time friend who is loved like a brother Carrol Blackwell and his wife Cindy of Lubbock. Sparks was someone whose name fit him perfectly. He was always laughing and loved all his family and friends so very much. He was a farmer at heart and loved to raise the best crops he possibly could. The Weather Channel was always on, watching for hail storms and a good cotton shower. He loved watching Tech sports and always had a great time tail-gating with his many friends. NASCAR races were great fun for him, especially fun was a trip to Talladega with his friends Clint, Michael, and John. Sparks had a huge heart and helped anyone he could, in any way possible. Many times they didn't know it had been him that was behind the help. He hugged everyone of us when we saw him and always told us how much he loved us. He will be missed so very much.
