Tulia, Texas— Jerrel Doyal, 68, died Sunday, June 25, 2006 in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 27, 2006 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. Mr. Doyal was born on November 29, 1937 in Jefferson County, Oklahoma. His family then moved to Crosbyton, Texas when he was a child. He attended schools there and graduated from high school in 1956. He moved to Tulia and farmed with his father. He later joined the Army National Guard and served on active duty as well as in the reserves for 6 years. He worked at Swisher Cattle Company for many, many years. He then worked for the T.D.C. as a correctional officer for five years. He was a Christian. He married Frances Berry on May 23, 1959 in Clovis, New Mexico. Survivors include is wife, Frances Doyal of the Home; a daughter, Teresa Raper of Amarillo; a son, Michael Doyal of Amarillo; one brother, Larry Doyal of Mexico City, Mexico; and two grandsons, Justin Raper and Aaron Raper, both of Amarillo. The family suggest memorials to B.S.A. Hospice, Swisher Memorial Hospital, or the First Baptist Church.
