Manuela M. Benavidez (Tulia)

Manuela M. Benavidez, 83, of Tulia died Sunday, Jan. 17, 2010 in Tulia. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Interment will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Jan. 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Mrs. Benavidez was born Sept. 1, 1926 in Calbert, Texas to Margarito and Clara Martinez. She married Ramon Benavidez on April 22, 1945 in Rosebud, Texas. She enjoyed cooking for her family and going to church. She is survived by her husband of 64 years: Ramon Benavidez of Tulia; two daughters: Isabel Longoria and husband John of Claytonville and Marianne Noriega and husband Johnny of Kress; two sons: Felix Benavidez of Bonham and Emmett Benavidez and wife Gennie of Tulia; two brothers: Pablo Martinez of Rosebud and Bernabe Martinez of Temple; one sister Anastacia Zavala of Waco; 20 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Eugenio Martinez; one sister: Alberta Cisneros and one great grandson: Jacob M. Moya.
