Tulia, Texas—Norman Singer, 84, died Monday, February 15, 2010 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, February 17, 2010 in the Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. Orville Rogers of Eunice, Louisiana and Rev. James Sain of Tulia officiating and Rev. Eddie Helms, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Norman was born December 11, 1925 in Littlefield to W.C. and Millie Singer. He attended schools at Fieldton and finished school at Spade High School. He married Thelma Underwood on November 2, 1944 in Nocona. They moved to Port Neches and later moved to Littlefield and farmed. In 1962 they moved to Tulia where he farmed and sold real estate. He was a member of Toastmasters International. He was a former city councilman of Tulia and a member and deacon at Calvary Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife Thelma Singer of Tulia, one daughter: Kay Foster and husband Leon of Tulia, one son: Randy Singer and wife Carolyn of Tulia, four grandchildren: Teresa Borchardt and husband Rex of Tulia, David Foster and wife Alisha of Benbrook, Blake Singer of Amarillo and Laci Singer of Lubbock, two great grandchildren: Kara Lacey of Tulia and Jenna Foster of Benbrook. He is preceded in death by a daughter: Judy Gale Singer and a granddaughter: Jennifer Singer.
