Stephanie Barton (Plainview)

Stephanie Hutchinson Barton, 39, of Plainview passed away on February 16, 2010 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, February 20, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church with Kyle Brock officiating and Bill DuBose assisting. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 P.M. Friday, February 19, 2010 at the funeral home. Stephanie was born on February 23, 1970 in Barberton, Ohio. She grew up in Gladewater, Texas and graduated from Gladewater High School in 1988. She attended Texas Tech University and graduated in 1992 and was a member of the Tri Delta Sorority. She married Brent Barton on February 19, 1994 in Lubbock. After working as a buyer/sales manager at Dillards for several years, she began working in the banking industry. She first worked for Bank One in Levelland as Vice President and Investment Broker. Stephanie currently worked as a Vice President of Vista Bank in Plainview. She was a member of the PTA, a den mother for the Cub Scouts, volunteer for Relay for Life, and helped with Little Dribblers. She attended Grace United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Brent Barton of Plainview; two children, Katie Beth Barton and Bryce Barton both of Plainview; her parents, Cheryl and Robert Allgood of Arlington; sister, Amy Gorum and husband Brian of Vernal, Utah; paternal grandmother, Dorothy Light Wooten of Gilmer, Texas; father and mother-in-law, Dick and Donna Barton of Plainview; aunt, Linda Dean Corvin; and two uncles, William”Bud” Light and Robert Light. She was preceded in death by a brother, W. Michael Hutchinson, and her grandfather, William D. “Bill” Light.
