Sarah Blanche Raper (Tulia)

Tulia, Texas— Blanche Raper, 87, died Monday, August 7, 2006 in Tulia. Graveside services will be held at 3:00pm Thursday, August 10, 2006 in the Fairview Cemetery in Wellington, Texas under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Tulia. She was born and raised in Rosebud, New Mexico. She married Ted Raper on July 15, 1936 in Wellington; they lived in Wellington and Childress before moving to Tulia in 1953. She worked for Perry’s Dept. Store and Walker’s Drive Inn. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Mr. Raper died August 17, 1979 and she is also preceded in death by one daughter; Patsy Raper in 1947 and one son; Sidney Raper in 2004, one brother; Henry Martin and one sister; Tennie Mae Dale. Survivors include one daughter; Cathy Tanner of San Antonio, Texas, one son and daughter-in-law; Duane and Phyllis Suder Raper of Woodland Park, Colorado, two sisters; Medie Colwell of Springfield, Arkansas and Elizabeth Hargis of Tucumcari, New Mexico, 6 grandchildren; Ricky Raper and family of Amarillo, Texas, Teresa Ward and family of Tulia, Texas, Mark Raper and family of San Antonio, Texas, Corey Tanner and family of San Antonio, Tammi DaFoe and family of San Antonio, Texas and Allen Raper and family of Dallas, Texas, 3 step-grandchildren; Steve Suder and family of Lockney, Texas, Chris Suder and family of Dennison, Texas and Nichelle Chadwick and family of Plainview, Texas and 15 great grandchildren.
