David Benavidez (Tulia)

Kress, Texas—David Benavidez, 46, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 in Lubbock. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, March 12, 2010 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday, March 13, 2010 at Tulia Christian Fellowship with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Benavidez was born May 24, 1963 in Temple. He married Erlinda “Nina” Martinez on August 13, 1987 in Tulia. He was a member of Tulia Christian Fellowship. Survivors include his wife: Erlinda “Nina” Benavidez of Kress; three daughters: Jovan Elaine Benavidez of Kress, Alegra Garcia and husband Shanon of Kress and Aurora Lynda “Dori” Benavidez of Kress; grandfather: Ramon Benavidez of Tulia; parents: John & Isabel Longoria of Claytonville; three sisters: Josie Longoria of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, Caroline Aldarete of Rio Rancho, New Mexico and Rebecca Spain of McKinney; two grandchildren: Everett James Garcia and Wynter Leigh Garcia and godson: Tristan Diego Rodriguez.
