Laura Sue Wheeler Laura Sue Wheeler, 61, of Olton, died Saturday, March 13, 2010 in Olton, Texas, surrounded by her family. Services will be held at 3:00 PM Monday March 15, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church-Olton, 312 3rd and Ave. D in Olton. Pastor Larry Holder will be officiating. Funeral arrangements are being made by Kornerstone Funeral Directors in Plainview. The burial will be at Olton Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 6:30 to 7:30 PM Sunday, March 14, 2010, at the Kornerstone Funeral Directors, 3605 Southwest 3rd St in Plainview. Born Oct. 29th, 1948 in Amherst, Texas, she was the daughter of T.B. and Mary Wheeler. She spent most of her life in the Olton area and graduated Olton High School in 1967 and Texas Tech University in 1971. Laura Sue was a probation officer for Castro County. She was a very active member of United Methodist Church, teaching and attending many different classes and groups, and involved in the Praise Ministry. She had many talents that she enjoyed such as cooking, quilting, sewing, photography and crocheting. She very much loved being with family and playing games. One of her favorite things to do was taking trips viewing the fall foliage with her mother. Her father, T.B. Wheeler, grandparents J.A. and Laura Wheeler, grandparents Nolan and Otha Dudley, and nephew Lee Wayne Wheeler preceded her in death. She is survived by her mother, Mary Wheeler, brother Ted Wheeler and his wife Julia Wheeler of Cross Plains Texas, brother Kerry Wheeler and his wife Carrie of Littlefield, Texas, brother Alan and his wife Rashell of Lockney, Texas, Aunt Linda Mainwaring of Springfield, Oregon and Uncle Denny of Seagraves, Texas, Aunt Wanda Dudley of Muleshoe, Texas and numerous nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials to the First United Methodist Church-Olton.
