Mary Catherine Johnson(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Mary Catherine Johnson, 86, died Monday, March 22, 2010. Funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am Friday, March 26, 2010 in the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Ken Keller officiating. Burial will follow in Happy Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A rosary will be said at 6:30 pm Thursday, March 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Mary was born December 31, 1923 in Nazareth to Joseph and Olive Lange. She graduated from Canyon High School in 1941. She married James A. Johnson on January 1, 1943 in Amarillo. She was a member the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW. She is preceded in death by her husband: James A. Johnson in 1988, son: Francis Johnson, grandson: Jerry Alan Johnson, her parents: Joseph and Olive Lange, three brothers: George Lange, Joe Lange and Albert Lange, five sisters: Sister Agnes Imelda, Sister Mary Michael, Gertrude Irlbeck, Imelda Wesley and Edith Irlbeck. Survivors include five sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Debbie Johnson of Tulia, Chris and Sandra Johnson of Tulia, Dan and Cynthia Johnson of Garden City, Kansas, Mark and D’Ann Johnson of Boyd, Texas and Steve and Rose Johnson of Princeton, Texas, eleven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Memorials may be given to the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 300 SE 2nd, Tulia, Texas 79088.
