Raymond Barron, Sr.(Plainview)

Raymond Barron, Sr., 86, of Plainview passed away on April 4, 2010 in Plainview. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 7, 2010 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Interment will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Rosary service will be at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Mr. Barron was born February 24, 1924 in Wichita, Kansas to Elosia and Pete Barron Sr. He was raised in Fort Worth. Mr. Barron served in the army in World War II as a medic. Later he worked for Brown Irrigation and then became a self employed retailer. Mr. Barron was a member of the American Legion where he served two years as Vice Commander, and ten years as Commander. He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Pete Barron Sr, brothers Leo, Alex, and Pete Barron Jr. and a son Raymond Barron Jr. Survivors include his wife Irene Barron; son, Vincent Barron of Lubbock, daughter, Hortencia Barron of Amarillo; two brothers, Randolph Barron Sr and Nick Barron of Lubbock; and one sister Margie Garcia of Synder. Grandchildren Kathleen Williams, Diane and husband Lewis Hassler, Angelina Hernandez, Kirk and wife Maricela Barron, Anthony and wife Maggie Barron, Darrell Barron, Carlos and wife Erin Barron, James and Jason Barron, Marcus Barron, and Lora Ann Barron. Great grandchildren include; Eric Benson, Josh and Lesli Hassler, Brittany and Terry Dean Padgett, Krystal Archer, Tony Barron, Jalynn, Jaden Garza, and Chris Martin. Great great grandchildren include Mariem Padgett, Kayle Archer.
