Dale Mickey, 83, died Sunday, April 11, 2010 at his residence in Plainview. Funeral Services will be 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Mr. Steve Stokes, Elder of Garland Street Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 P.M. at the funeral home. Dale was born on February 27, 1927 in Plainview to Everitt and Mary Mickey. He grew up and raised his family in Plainview. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked as a Parts Manager and Salesman in the Auto Industry for over 30 years. He married Estell Lobstein in 1949 and she preceded him in death in 1996. He married Erma Caldwell on August 16, 1998 in Plainview. He was a member of Garland Street Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife, Erma Mickey of Plainview; his five children, Everitt Mickey (Dot) of Austin, Charley Mickey (Libby) of Katy, Janet Covert (Robert) of Terrell, Gilmer Mickey (Vernetta) of Denver, CO, Betsy Young of Carrolton; seven grandchildren, Brook Mickey (Kristy), Amber Mickey, Kyle Mickey, Truett Mickey (Cholano), Jack Funderberg, Nicole Black (Jason), Brittany Young; four great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two step-sons, Steven Caldwell (Rhonda) of San Antonio, Scott Caldwell (Lisa) of Texas City; three step-grandchildren; and two sisters, Sarah Hudson (Bill) of Virginia, Rita Dorsett of California.
