Sammy Davis, 52, of Plainview, passed away on August 30, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Tulia with Rev. Leonel Gonzalez of Area Community Hospice officiating and Rev. Jeffrey Lee, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church assisting. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery in Tulia under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Davis was born on January 23, 1954 in Tulia, Texas. He grew up there and graduated from Tulia High School in 1973. He worked at Dairy Queen and Roll-A-Cone before working for Scott Tractor for 22 years. He left there in 2000 going to work at the Marshall Formby unit until his illness in 2003. His is survived by his wife, Rose Sharon Davis of Plainview; two daughters, Angela Catlett of Tulia, TX, Linda Yarbrough and husband Doug of Amarillo, TX; one son, Christopher Davis of Amarillo, TX; one stepdaughter, Trica Rodriquez and husband Gilbert of Lockney; one stepson, Bill Havens, Jr. of Plainview, TX; his mother, Betty Davis of Tulsa,OK; three sisters, Betty Gilmore and husband Robert of Tulsa, OK, Lynda Freeman and husband Sam of Oklahoma City, OK, Bonnie Tindel of Marlow, OK; three brothers, Lyndell Davis of Tulia, TX, Warren Davis and wife Carol of Plainview, TX, Walter Davis and wife Glenna of Amherst; nine grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews; and a special aunt, Hattie Bowman of Marlow, OK. He was preceded in death by his father, Leonard Davis, a sister Patsy Marriott, and sister-in-law, Lana Davis and one niece. The family suggests memorials to Area Community Hospice, P.O.
