Milton “Sonny” Sutton, 72, died Sunday, April 18, 2010 at his residence in Plainview after lengthy battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Seth Ward Baptist Church with Rev. Jim Ritter officiating and Sonny’s son Joel Lane assisting. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 8:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Sonny was born on November 19, 1937 in Arkinda, Arkansas. He grew up in Pittsburg, Texas and graduated from High School there. He did a little bit of everything before becoming a Ranger with the Boy Scouts of America. He was a member of the Seth Ward Baptist Church and a member of the Promise Keepers. He married Lois Arlene Wall on March 26, 1994 in Plainview. He was preceded in death by his mother, Myrtle Taylor and father Luther Sutton and sister Hazel Young. He is survived by his wife, Lois A. Sutton of Plainview; five daughters, Diane Crowell of Tacoma, Washington, Tyjunia Whiddon of Porter, TX, LaFanda Sutton of Houston, Lisa Rogers of Plainview, Shelly Neighbors of Irving; two sons, Milton Jay Sutton of Pasadena, TX, Joel Lane of Bastrop, TX; two sisters, Geneva Barclay of Lockney, Gene Brotherton of Lockney; 19 Grandchildren and 12 Great Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Children’s Ministry of Seth Ward Baptist Church or the Lockney Senior Citizens.
