Tulia, Texas—William “Bob” Gales, 41, died Thursday, May 6, 2010 in Alamogordo, NM. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, May 13, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in Tulia with Rev. Curtis House, a Methodist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Bob was born May 2, 1969 in Tulia. He grew up here and graduated from Tulia High in 1988. He joined the US Air Force on May 10, 1991 and was currently stationed a Holloman AFB in Alamogordo, NM. His honors include a Purple Heart received in Saudi Arabia, Air Force Achievement Honors and Air Force Commendations Honors. He was currently working as an End of Runway Supervisor on Holloman AFB. He is preceded in death by his father: Donald Gales. Survivors include his mother: Kathy Barton and husband Ed of Tulia, his wife: Tracy Gales of Alexandria, Virginia, a step-son: Nick Abel of Anchorage, Alaska, his step-dad: Wendel Osburn of Amarillo, one sister: LaTonda Stout and husband Steve of Tulia, one half-sister: Nikki Davis and husband Chris of Krum, Texas,4 nieces and nephews: Kirah Calhoun and husband Sonny of Hartley, Texas and Seth Stout of Minot, North Dakota, Jason Davis and Shelby Davis of Krum, Texas, 5 great nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Tulia 4-H Club, 310 W. Broadway, Tulia, Texas 79088 or the Alamogordo 4-H Club, 401 Fairgrounds Rd., Alamogordo, NM 88310.
