Dolores Ortiz(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Dolores Ortiz, 63, died Monday, May 10, 2010 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Tulia Christian Fellowship Church with Rev. Rusty Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Dolores was born September 15, 1946 in Piedres Negras, Mexico. She moved to Tulia at the age of 14. She married Arthur Ortiz on December 29, 1960 in Tulia. She worked for Keeter’s Meat Company for 25 years and Swisher Co-op Gin for several years. Survivors include her husband: Arthur Ortiz of Tulia, 3 daughters: Dora Barrios, Teresa Ramirez and Sandy Ortiz, all of Tulia, 3 sons: Rudy Ortiz of Tulia, Jessie Ortiz of Plainview and Randy Ortiz of Dumas, 3 sisters: Juana Ponce of Temple, Francisca Quijano and Lupe Victorino, both of LaPryor, TX, 22 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a son: Arturo Ortiz, Jr. a sister: Maria Mendoza and 2 great granddaughters: Heavn'ly Coleman and Bianca Breanna Briones. A prayer service will be held at 6:30 pm Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at the funeral home.
