Tulia, Texas—Jimmie Sue Estes of Claude, 66, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010 in Claude. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, May 29, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Jess Little and Rev. James Hassell officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Jimmie Sue was born October 11, 1943 to Van and Erlene (Brooks) Barbour in Batesville, Arkansas. She grew up in Tulia and attended schools here. She attended a beauty school in Amarillo. She was a homemaker. She raised her children in Silverton. She was very artistic with ceramics, woodworking and painting. She had a green thumb and loved the outdoors. Her family includes three sons and daughters-in-law: Jim and Donna Estes of Silverton, Ross and Melissa Estes of Silverton and Lorn and Haley Estes of Claude, her mother: Erlene Barbour of Tulia, two brothers: Ed Barbour of Sunray and Steve Barbour of Haskell, two sisters: Jean Richards of Decatur and Kathy Lust of Lubbock, five grandchildren: Amanda and Aaron Adamson of Lubbock, Jarred and Kelsie McNeill of Lubbock, Braden Estes of Silverton, Payton Estes of Silverton and Shane Estes of Lubbock, three great grandchildren: Braelyn Estes of Silverton, Trooper Adamson of Lubbock and Tally Adamson of Lubbock. She is preceded in death by her father: Van Barbour and a sister: Dorothy Timmons.
