Shirley Joy Werner Bandy, 61, of Plainview died on Saturday, May 29, 2010, in Plainview, Texas. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, May 30, 2010 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at 3701 Kirchwood, Plainview, Texas. She was born on August 6, 1948 in Welfare, Texas. She grew up in Comfort, Texas and graduated from high school there. She attended the University of Texas in Austin and received and associates degree. She worked as a lab technician at the hospital in Hale Center and later in Plainview. She then worked for the Serenity Center as a rehabilitation assistant. She married Jim C. Bandy on March 31, 1978 in Clovis, New Mexico. She is survived by her husband, Jim Bandy of Plainview; three sons, Jimmy L. Bandy, D.C. and wife Tami of Branson, MO, Chris Bandy and wife LeAnne of Lubbock, Mark Bandy and wife Laurie of Lubbock; one daughter, Dawn Craven of Blanco, Texas; mother-in-law, Ollie Bandy of Plainview; cousin, Janet Perkinson of Hale Center; best friend, Mary Poteet of Plainview; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
