Harrell Weatherred (Plainview)

Harrell Weatherred, 82, of Plainview passed away on Monday, June 14, 2010, in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, June 17, 2010, in the First United Methodist Church Sanctuary with Dr. Travis Hart of First Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Plainview Memorial Park under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. There will be a visitation from 7-8 P.M. on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors. Mr. Weatherred was born on May 20, 1928, in Cottle County to William and Mattie Weatherred. He served in the U.S. Army. He married Dorcas Rhodes on December 21, 1957, in Panhandle. He was the golf coach and driver’s education teacher at Plainview High School. Harrell was also a past Director of the Optimist Baseball Program and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. Survivors include his wife Dorcas Weatherred of Plainview, two sons, Paul Weatherred of San Antonio and Patrick Weatherred of Midland, one sister, Clara Jane Sexton of Lubbock and two grandchildren, Jordan Weatherred of Midland and Lindsey Weatherred of Midland. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Gregory Weatherred, seven brothers and two sisters.
