Tulia, Texas – Karl T. Rodgers, 63, passed away on October 5, 2006 at his residence. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel with Rev. Mark Weiss of Calvary Baptist Church in Plainview officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Karl was born on March 24, 1943 in Tulia, Texas. He grew up on the Stirrup Farm and Ranch 10 miles east of Tulia. He worked as a Cowboy on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation and Dan Blocker ranch in New Mexico. He made his way through college shoeing horses from his mobile shop on his pickup. He was featured in the Western Horseman Magazine for his expert horseshoeing. He graduated form Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. He also took many bible courses at Wayland Baptist University. He later worked at the Conestoga Restaurant. He was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Plainview. He is survived by three brothers, Sterling M. Rodgers of Neptune, N.J, Lanier E. Rodgers of Export, PA, Daniel W. Rodgers of Phoenix , AZ; one sister, Vada L. Hilgenfeld of Wichita, KS; and many Nieces and Nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to: Driskill House, P.O.
