Tanis Moralez (Tulia)

Tanis Moralez, 92, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2006. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 2:00 p.m. in Petersburg, Texas. Burial will follow in Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Moralez was born on May 7, 1914 in McGregor, Texas. He grew up in Poth, Texas. He married Dora Ovalla on February 6, 1937. The moved to Petersburg in the 1940’s where he farmed for over thirty years. He then worked for Petersburg COOP for about 15 years as a ginner. He and his wife helped form the first catholic church there in Petersburg. He moved to Tulia in the late 1990’s. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Petersburg before joining Chuch of the Holy Spirit in Tulia. He was also a member of the Sacred Heart Society and Crucsillista. His wife, Dora Moralez preceded him in death in 1995. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Mike Moralez, and Tanis Moralez, Jr. Survivors include four children, Linda Gonzalez of Tulia, Mary Livar of Amarillo, Cleto Moralez of Petersburg, and Lupe Lejman of Gahana, Ohio; 23 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren, and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. Rosary services will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in the Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel at 7 p.m.
