Virginia Jenkins (Plainview)

Virginia Jenkins of Plainview passed away on Sunday, July 4, 2010 in Plainview. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Kyle Brock officiating. Family burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Lubbock under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:30-7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Mrs. Jenkins was born March 9, 1928 in Weatherford, Texas to Ben & Thelma McWhorter. She married Homer Lee Jenkins on November 6, 1949 in Lubbock, Texas. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1973. She moved to Plainview in 1950 and worked for Furr’s Foods, J.C. Penney and Jenkins Automotive. Mrs. Jenkins was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She is survived by one son: Buster Jenkins and wife Dian of Plainview; one brother: Stanley McWhorter of Weatherford; one sister: Charlotte Gwinn of Roswell; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
