Olga Tannahill Miller, 95, died on Thursday, July 8, 2010, after a long battle with staph pneumonia. Graveside Services will be held at 9:30 A.M., Monday, July 12, 2010, at Plainview Cemetery. There will be a memorial service at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, July 15, 2010, at The Woodland Oaks Church of Christ at 7300 Crownridge Dr., The Woodlands, Texas. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Olga was born on December 25, 1914, at her family’s house outside of Lockney, Texas. Her parents Dora and Francis Carthel also had two sons: Hershel and Chester. She graduated from Lockney High School in 1932 and married Maurice Tannahill, a neighbor, in 1934. They moved to Hereford, Texas in 1937 and had two sons: Carlton and Gary. Maurice died in 1976 in Kingsland, Texas where they spent many winter months. In 1981, Olga married George Miller from Wyoming who also spent winters in Kingsland. He died in 1997. In 2002, Olga moved to The Woodlands, Texas to be close to her son. Olga was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Dora Smith Carthel, siblings, Hershel and Chester Carthel, husbands, Maurice Tannahill and George Miller and son, Carlton Tannahill. Survivors include a son, Gary Tannahill and wife Kay, grandsons, Barney Tannahill and wife Megan and Jesse Tannahill, George Miller’s children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Memorial gifts may be made to the Cherokee Children’s Home, P.O. Box 295, Bandera, Texas 76832 or to the Medina Children’s Home, 21300 State Highway 16 N. Medina, Texas 78055.
