Tulia, Texas—Gladys Lee Fambro, 92, died Wednesday, July 14, 2010 in Dimmitt. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2010 in the Central Church of Christ with Bruce Baird, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2010 at the funeral home. Gladys was born October 7, 1917 in Estelline to Walter and Ollie George. She was raised in the Love Community east of Tulia where she attended schools. She married Jim Malone on September 24, 1935 and they farmed in Swisher County. Mr. Malone died August 1963. She worked for Dairy Queen and JG’s Department Store. She later met and married Hugh Fambro in August 1967 where they lived east of Happy from 1967 to 1997 when she moved back to Tulia. Mr. Fambro died January 15, 1994. She was a member of the Central Church of Christ in Tulia. Survivors include her daughter: Freda White of Ft. Worth, two sons: Roger Malone and his wife Geneva of Dimmitt and J. C. Malone of Colorado City, another daughter-in-law: Pat Malone of Hereford, one sister: Carol Faye Barnett of Ft. Worth, four brothers: Kenneth George of Lubbock, Robert George of Morton, Benny Wayne George of Hurst and Tommy George of Kress, 15 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her two husbands, one sister: Sylvia Love, four brothers: Jack George, L.G. George, Charlie George and Bill George and one granddaughter: Gladys Marie White.
