Tulia, Texas—Kenneth Lyle Love, 80, died Sunday, July 25, 2010 in Tulia. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 29, 2010 in the First Baptist Church with Rev. James Hassell, pastor officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Ken was born December 11, 1929 in Swisher County to Edward Newton and Kate Milvenia Love. He lived in the Love Community and attended schools there and graduated Tulia High School. He played Semi-Pro Baseball with the Tulia Irrigation League in Tulia. He was all AAU as a pitcher. He married Doris Nunn on July 29, 1955. He was an entrepreneur involved in many endeavors including 20 years in the National Guard in Tulia as the Administration Supply Tech., he owned and operated Continental Oil Co. and he owned a convenient store and a car wash and had several farms. He was a member of First Baptist Church. As a young man he was a member of the Tulia Lions Club and coached Little League Baseball. He is survived by his wife: Doris Love of Tulia, one daughter and son-in-law: Selena and John Kloehr of Southlake, two sons and a daughter-in-law: Chris and Lisa Love of Canyon and Pat Love of Tulia, one sister: Alice Cercy of Bryant, Arkansas, three grandchildren: Jonathan Biggs of McKinney, Lani Mays of Canyon, and Lexi Love of Canyon. He is preceded in death by his parents, five brothers: Audrey Wayne Love, Howard Love, Hurbert Love, Carroll Love and Edward Norman Love, three sisters: Winnie Love, Thennie Lee Love and Faye Brown. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials to the American Heart Association, 6605 I-40 West, Building A-6, Amarillo, Texas 79106 or to the First Baptist Church, 101 N. Crosby, Tulia, Texas 79088. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the funeral home.
