Tulia, Texas—Leola Fern Hon, 86, passed away Friday, August 13, 2010. Celebration of life services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 20, 2010, at Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Tulia. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Leola was born January 19, 1924, in Beaver, Oklahoma to Frank and Fern Hogsett. She dedicated her life to her family and education. She was a long time math teacher at Tulia Junior High School, Tulia, Texas, and Gattis Middle School, Clovis, New Mexico, where she retired. She considered Clovis her home and lived there until moving to Arbor House, Weatherford, Texas, in April 2005. Leola was a member of the 21st Street Church of Christ in Clovis. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Henry Hon and a grandson, John Albert Hon. Survivors include her daughters, Jane Love and husband Ronnie of Tulia, Texas, Judy Harman and husband Rickey of Weatherford, Texas, Jackie Hon of Ft. Worth, Texas, her son, John Henry Hon II and wife Diane of Fairfax, Virginia, eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also considered family were the staff at Arbor House.
