Esteban Alvarez(Tulia)

Tulia, Texas—Esteban Alvarez, 75, passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at First United Methodist Church with Van Miller officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Tulia. Mr. Alvarez was born December 2, 1934. He married Oralia DeAnda on December 28, 1957 in Edinburg. She preceded him in death on February 26, 1996. He worked as a farmer for 25 years and for the City of Tulia for 18 years. He is survived by six daughters: Cruz Jasso of Pampa, Yolanda Moreno of Tulia, Sylvia Eder and husband Mark of Rockwall, Alice Wilborn and husband Cary of Amarillo, Rosemary LaBaume of Tulia and Margaret Moya and husband Richard of Amarillo; three sons: Roger Alvarez and wife Cindy of Lubbock, Rudy Alvarez and wife Toni of Lubbock and Ruben Alvarez of Amarillo; three brothers: Alejandro Alvarez, Juan Alvarez and Heriberto Alvarez; three sisters: Catarina Fierro, Piedad Alvarez and Irma Alarcon; 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the funeral home.
