Ronnie Gene Thompson (Plainview)

Ronnie Gene Thompson, 54, passed away on Monday, September 13, 2010, in Amarillo. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 16, 2010, in Kornerstone Funeral Directors Chapel in Plainview with Q.D. Bevill officiating. Burial will follow in Kress Cemetery under the care of Kornerstone Funeral Directors of Plainview. Mr. Thompson was born on August 10, 1956, in Tulia, Texas, to W.B. and Juanita Herring Thompson. He grew up in Kress and worked as a farmer, welder and mechanic. He was a very hard worker and a strong, sweet man. He loved to play his guitar and write songs as well as fishing. Ronnie loved life, family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Donald “Whitey” Thompson. He is survived by his daughters, Misti Ivins and husband Darren of Dumas and Christi Morgan of Plainview; his brother, Tommy Thompson and wife Carolyn of Petersburg; his sister Lou Bevill and husband Carl of Kress; his grandchildren, Michael Gray, Brady Ray, Mykaila Cartmell, Cayman Ivins, Colton Ivins and Kasie Ivins, and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Kress Cemetery Fund, PO Box 1194, Kress, Texas 79052.
