Tulia Texas—Otto A. (Sam) Warth, 80, died Thursday, September 16, 2010 at his home in Tulia. Prayer services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, September 17, 2010 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 am Saturday, September 18, 2010 at the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit with Father Tony Neusch officiating and Father Marcos Gonzalez assisting. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 am Thursday, September 23, 2010 in the St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey, Nebraska with Father Tom Bauwens and Father Tom Greisen officiating and burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Cornlea, Nebraska. Mr. Warth was born on October 6, 1929 in Cornlea, Nebraska to Otto A. and Adeline (Borer) Warth, where he was raised and attended school at Humphrey St. Francis High School. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953 with duty in the Korean War. He married Jeanette Gilsdorf on September 11, 1957 in Cornlea. He worked for the Continental Grain Company for 35 years, 27 years in Cornlea and 8 years in Tulia where he was the Grain Elevator Manager. He retired in 1991. He was a member of the Catholic Church of the Holy Spirit where he was on the Parish Council, an Usher and Extraordinary Minister. He loved working the earth, woodworking, golf, traveling, modern technology and spending time with family. He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister; Rita Albin, his parents-in-law; Joe and Rose Gilsdorf, two brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; Bill and Cleo Mae Wiese, Marvin and Rhoda Gilsdorf, two brothers-in-law; Mark Gilsdorf and Bob Gilsdorf. He is survived by his wife; Jeanette Warth of Tulia, four daughters and sons-in-law; Cindy Sand and husband Jerry of Lenexa, Kansas, Barb Bruner and husband Dave of Lincoln, Nebraska, Christine Lebbert and husband Doug of Omaha, Nebraska and Carolyn Hale and husband Norman of Norfolk, Nebraska, four grandsons; Aaron Bruner, Christopher Bruner, Ethan Hale and Logan Hale. He is also survived by a brother; Joe Warth and wife LuAnn of Columbus, Nebraska, two brothers-in-law; Percy Gilsdorf and wife Mary of Madison, Nebraska, Gary Gilsdorf and wife Laurie of Las Vegas, Nevada, two sisters-in-law; Marsha Gilsdorf of Lincoln, Nebraska and Evelyn Gilsdorf, several nieces and nephews. Memorials directed to the family will be sent to Father Fernando Ruge’s Mission in Columbia.
